How Do You Roll With Friendships?
An analysis of how I roll with keeping and sidelining people.
The "Dealing" Bar In Friendship
This week I was just scrolling through my Instagram stories with Razzy and he asked “Who’s that?” and I told him that’s someone I don’t talk to anymore because they fucked up. Then he said, “Why is it you always who stops talking? There are so many people whom you don’t talk with anymore.”
Now, this is something I never gave a thought to. I’ve ended many friendships because they fucked up. I am really cold when it comes to forgiving, but it has worked great for me to date.
If you are a really really really good friend and you fuck up, the bar is too high so it probably might never hit the threshold. The maximum I could be mad at you is for a few days or maybe a week (I haven’t forgotten The Betrayal till now).
Also, the threshold is up for you because I give you my 100% with all stuff so I expect that you’ll reciprocate all the love.
But it’s not the same for everyone. If your actions hurt me and you are not a really really really good friend, the threshold on the bullshit meter will get lower, and the hurt meter will go up.
The threshold bar also gets up if I mess up things between us. You can probably mess up more with me because I’ll probably never get over the guilt I did wrong to you.
I know I need to get better and be more forgiving. I am heading to a new place, and I guess I need to set my expectations lower to keep going. I know how to deal with it, but I probably won’t.
This amazing graph explains the type of friendships we all have. Almost 99% of my friends fall in Q1, and I am happy it is the way it is.
The “traffic test” means:
I am sorry to break it to you but if your friendship with someone does not pass the “traffic test”, it’s not worth putting in your efforts.
New Type Of Momos
I tried this new place: Indie Momos - Patel Nagar. They have lots of varieties of Momos. The momos in the picture - starting from left to right of red momos sauce go as follows: Steam Momos, Tandoori Momos, Afghani Momos and Peri-Peri Momos. The ones not in the picture are Chocolate Momos (yes they were as bad as they sound).
Going Vegetarian
Yes folks, it’s finally happening. I am leaving non-vegetarian food starting today. I realize the impact it has on the environment, how it contributes to global warming, how the industry is taking the life of innocent animals, and many more factors that made me quit this delicious side of food.
I am just kidding guys. The above factors are why I should’ve left chicken, but they aren’t the real reasons. Actually, I am not able to digest chicken anymore for a while. I had this issue back in 2018, but after 3 years it has returned and if I eat any type of chicken I end up having a bad stomach ache. Bye-bye chicken! :(
I am not at all looking forward to having Paneer dishes as an alternative to Chicken. I’ll be missing out on the best rolls, best shawarma, best momos and a lot more.
I Took A Good Photograph
I am a bad photographer, so this counts as an achievement to me.
If you zoom in, you can see the colours on his neck and his beak. My phone’s camera is better than I expected.
The Accident
While coming back from my brother’s house, I stopped at a red light. After a few seconds, someone rammed into my scooty really bad that I fell along with my dad. We both are fine, just minor scratches. Scooty’s backlight broke completely though. We tried talking sense to the dude who rammed the car into us, but he was drunk. He was also the local goon and son of a politician of our area, known for murders and stuff. He just drove away after 5 minutes and just told us no one was hurt, didn’t even admit his fault.
This incident was such a near miss to death. If the guy didn’t press his breaks, I could’ve been dragged along the empty road for all I know. I can’t report to the police because I know they have police protection.
Sucks to be a rule-abiding common citizen here.
Until next week folks! Stay Safe! 😷
