Indian Growth Stories - The Reboot!
I wrote a 3000-word essay on the Indian Short Video Industry and the Tiktok ban aftermath. You can check it out here if you are interested. Please subscribe too, it’ll help me grow.
A Horror Dream
I have been having dreams every night for a few weeks but I rarely remember any of them. But I do remember this dream vaguely enough because I woke up sweating. Here’s how it goes:
Some guy (let’s name him X) is running behind me to catch me. They want to get hold of me at any costs, and they literally just running and continuously running behind me while I run for my dear life. The setting takes place in a nearby neighbourhood so I know my map better than X. I manage to cheat him successfully after a long day and go back home to sleep hoping it’s all over.
The next day I end up in some weird Hotel where X is again behind me. The hotel contains about 5-6 floors so I am running to save my life. He is even more angrier as he was not able to catch me yesterday. X got no mercy because he is literally breaking these Japanese doors and smashing tables searching room to room for me. I go down while he is at the upper floors, and I meet my bodybuilder friend and I am kind of relieved that he can save me and this’ll be over. Soon X comes over into the restaurant and I run, but my friend holds X’s arm, stopping him saying “What the fuck is your problem dude?”
The next scene is my bodybuilder friend is now crying because he got beaten so badly by X just for holding his arm. He is crying and shaking and tells me to run as fast as I can. I could actually feel my life ending seeing his crying face in my dream. So I start running again with X behind. But just as X was about to catch me, I woke up.
I don’t want to see these type of dreams again ever.
Due in 30 Minutes
My friend remembered that they need to do two quizzes on the due date with 30 minutes left for submission. Each quiz is 30 minutes. But they managed to do it since they had the answers, but I am just writing here to let y’all know (including me) to please don’t be stupid and keep a check on deadlines.
The Lovely Metro
I adore the Delhi Metro. I do love driving but the vibe of not actually driving to reach your destination in cheap hits different.
I loved it even if it used to be extremely crowded. I and my friends used to travel back from work to home in the pre-pandemic days only to jam pack into the metro which barely had space to set a foot. We had to stand for an hour to reach home, but it never hurt because of the great company I had.
I also remember once we got confused about where the metro was going and we constantly were blocking the door again and again by keeping a foot in between which forced open the door again for a few seconds. After doing it 3-4 times we actually got on the metro, only to realise we boarded the wrong one. CC: Aayush, Srijit, Sahil and also maybe Khushi.
After the second lockdown, the metro is allowed only to have 50% seating capacity with no one standing. The result:
The Celebration
The boys gathered over at Sameer’s house to celebrate the release of his new Shopify app Shiplink. We had lots of fun and yes Sameer absolutely nailed it as a host!
We played Ping Pong Cricket, Social Humour and talked about stuff. We ran out of soft drinks so I went out with Sameer and Arihant.
I really hope Debjeet makes a nice vlog that does not put me into any bad limelight.
Police!
Not-so-sober Arihant insisted that he wants to ride on the scooty. The rest two of us said NO and had to convince him for a while to take him in the car.
We got stopped by the police. Now I have two not-so-sober people with me with one of them driving. All the policeman could see was the fear in our eyes, but we were not giving up. He asked for the Rc, and in the panic, it took us a while to find it. But the guy was nice it seems since he let us off without saying anything.
We did some nice essential shopping at 2am.
Project A
It’ll happen real soon and everyone will know. cc: Aayush and Sameer.
Glorious FIFA
Two-player FIFA is fun. But 4 player FIFA is even more fun! We took turns playing and I for sure know that there will never be a good replacement for FIFA.
Juggernaut
After staying up all night, Arsh wanted to get his morning coffee from Juggernaut, a great nearby South Indian restaurant. So we bid goodbyes and went, and it was amazing.
We talked the orchestras our schools used to have, amongst a lot of stuff. We 3 jam great always.
I got myself a cold coffee with Masala Vada. While I expected a different type of Vada, this one was good too and tasted like Aloo Tikki.
The best part was I did not realize where all this time went. Thank you Sameer for the great party broooooooooooo!
The MacOS Flip
Sameer also updated my Macbook Air to the latest macOS Big Sur.
I am yet to explore everything, but I am still tripping over the wallpapers it has. As show below, the wallpaper will change according to the time.
Overall result: A great week!
Until next week folks! Stay Safe!
